BVI Ferries – routes and operators

The option of BVI Ferries for getting to the BVI is particularly useful for our charter guests traveling from or through North America. Fly into St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands (airport code STT), and you’re just a short ferry ride from our charter base in Tortola!

When you arrive in St Thomas just take a short taxi ride (don’t worry – the taxi operators will be waiting for your flight!) to one of the ferry terminals:

  • Charlotte Amalie (around 10 minutes by taxi)
  • Red Hook (about 30 minutes by taxi)

Then depending on your route, it’s no more than a one-hour ferry ride through some of the most picturesque islands in the world to either West End, Tortola, or Road Town Tortola.

Depending on your route, a British Virgin Island (BVI) Ferry journey can take up to 1 hour. You can find the ferry schedules here, but please note that schedules are subject to change without notice, passengers are advised to check with the ferry company in advance of departure.

BVI Water Taxis

If you arrive late, miss your ferry or would like a private inter-island transfer directly to our dock, you can organise a water taxi with our trusted partner Trident Yacht Charters. A Private water taxi is an excellent way of getting to your destination super-fast and in style!
